At the January 2012 Board of Education meeting, Transportation Coordinator Melissa Ostermeyer presented a PowerPoint presentation outlining the growth the Transportation Department has undergone in recent years, as well as the current status of our vehicles and future needs.

The updated Transportation Request Form for the 2011/12 school year is available for printing. Please fill it out completely and bring it, along with proof of residency, to the District Administrative Center to enroll students for transportation.

Pay to Ride is available on a first come first served basis for students who live less than 2 1/2 miles from their school, with the exception of the "No Transportation" area outlined in the Pay to Ride document.

At their May 2010 meeting, the Board of Education approved an amended Transportation Policy. Read the amended policy . . .

The Transportation Office is part of the District Administrative Center at 330 E. Highway 24/40, (between the two high school buildings, close to the highway). Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

To sign a student up for bus transportation, stop by the Transportation Office and speak with Melissa Ostermeyer. It is not sufficient to fill out a form and leave it with the school secretary.

Large objects such as musical instruments that will not fit on the student's lap or under the seat, or large science projects (anything larger than a backpack) can not be transported on a school bus. These run the risk of becoming projectiles in the event of an accident, and must be brought to and from school another way.
